Jorge Manganelli: “When you’re going to milongas where you see good dancers, like in the “Club Chacarita” or “Villa Malcolm”, and you observed, the steps were passed on like this: “Maestro, can you show me a step?” and the maestros were very generous. And there was much respect; the young people invited the old milongueras to dance; today that doesn’t happen anymore. Those milongueras have a different musical substance, an energy distinct from that of a young and beautiful girl, because they had many years of milonga experience.”
