“Pasión”

PASION: After “Sentimiento” is the word most used by the milongueros I interviewed to define tango.

It is that passion IS a feeling!

(Definition of Passion in the dictionary: Vehement feeling, capable of dominating the will and disturbing reason, such as intense love, hatred, jealousy or anger).

Confirmed, Tango is a passion for me! In the course of my life it had different meanings.

In my childhood, Tango was present through my father.

When my father passed away, several years passed without tango for me. From that tragic day of my adolescence until the day Alejandro asked me THAT question, there were many emergencies to attend to help my mother.

What would you like to do? he asked me. I hadn’t heard that question for many years. I took a couple of days to answer and finally told him I want to learn to dance tango!

From that day on, Alejandro promised to accompany me in everything, except dancing, so that I could make my dream come true 🙂 If this is not love… Here is another feeling. The most beautiful.

And so began this journey, full of feeling. Years of a voracious student. Without having proposed it to me, one day I had a job in the Government of the City of Buenos Aires as a “profe de tango”. I had not been a teacher of anything! I decided to do a career as an instructor. I obsessive?

This way life led me to discover my other passion, teaching.

Later, the tours, taking tango around the world.

Traveling, I realized that it was necessary to divulge something more than dance. I proposed to transmit “the codes of the traditional milongas”. Due to the failure of my original idea for the PractiMilonguero, the interviews came up.

But there was more to do, to be able to decipher that way of dancing of the old milongueros to share it with my students. Not what they do, but HOW. And so I got to my “Special”. Do you want to know how this story continues? www.monicapaz.com
